I have been involved in several projects using satellites to track wildlife in Kenya, including GPS tracking African Savannah Elephants (Loxodonta africana) and analyzing movement in relation to settlements of nomadic pastoralists, which were mapped by satellite via boma locations (1). Demonstrating the feasibility of automatically detecting blue wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) using a U-Net model from high-resolution satellite imagery (shown in image above) (2). I have also led several drone-based projects in Kenya. Including tracking and automating behavior recognition of Olive baboons (Anubis baboon) as they move to and from a variety of sleeping sites (3) . and a similar project for giraffes (Giraffa reticulata), plains zebra (Equus quagga), and Grevy's zebra (Equus grevyi) (4) .
